FREE ACTIVITIES IN GRANADA TO CELEBRATE THE EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS

16.10.2019
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, a set of activities dedicated to Art and Leisure will be carried out, including six concerts, seven guided tours, an exhibition, a poetic-musical recital and the screening of two films. All this will take place between October 19 and November 16.

In this edition, the role of cultural property will be highlighted as part of the offer to promote the entertainment of citizens and tourists. The programming offers an ambitious program with which it is intended to spread the cultural heritage and promote awareness of European cultural unity through a wide range of cultural activities.

It is intended to bring the individual to the simplicity and tranquility of the beauty of spaces away from the city, through guided visits to Gardens and Orchards. Places such as the Monumental Ensemble of the Alhambra, Lachar Castle, Carmen de los Cipreses, Jardín de Vélez de Benaudalla and Huerta de San Vicente will be visited, the latter enriched with a Poetic Recital.

The visit to the Royal Pigeon Tire Society, a contemporary architectural work by one of our great architects, José María García de Paredes, is also organized. Another proposal that brings art to leisure through the magic of water, is the visit to the Baths of La Malaha. The cinema also has a presence in the programming of the Conference. The Library of Andalusia will be the screening place for two films sensitive to heritage: «The literary society and the potato skin cake» and «The Library of rejected books».

Music will also acquire a fundamental role, called to be part of this edition of the conference. It will be in spaces of heritage wealth (Museum of the House of Shots, Musical Documentation Center, Church of the Barefoot Carmelites and Convent of the Comendadoras de Santiago) where we can listen to our Choirs.

The Library of Andalusia has scheduled an exhibition to publicize citizens, a collection of unique pieces, books, publications and materials with heritage value.

The itinerary with date and day of the activities can be found on the website of the Andalusian board. https://www.juntadeandalucia.es/organismos/culturaypatrimoniohistorico/areas/bienes-culturales/jornadas-patrimonio.html
